Town & Country FCU makes $1,000 contribution to help Students with Back-to-School Supplies
Just in time for the first bell of the 2024-25 school year, Town & Country Federal Credit Union once again partnered with Project GRACE in Scarborough to provide a significant financial contribution to help provide backpacks and school supplies to more than 100 Scarborough students in grades K-12.
Bert Follensbee, President of the Board of Directors at Project GRACE, said, “Thanks to Town & Country’s generous donation and a great response from the community for our School Backpack and Supply Drive, students in Scarborough will be heading to school prepared and confident with backpacks and school supplies.”
Steffi Cox, Executive Director of Project GRACE, added, “In addition to providing these needed supplies to families at a pick-up held at the Scarborough Library, we are also providing some supplies to schoolteachers and resource officers to help kids in the coming weeks as the school year begins. We are grateful to Town & Country for its contribution.”
Linda Halleran, Community Engagement Manager at Town & Country, stopped by the library to present our contribution. She explained, “Through our ‘local helping local’ commitment, we understand that ensuring kids in our community are equipped with the right supplies is an important part of facilitating a positive learning environment and experience. Our partnership with Project GRACE enables us to make a difference and to not only make sure that the supplies get to those who need them but to also help them start the school year off on the right foot. We appreciate Project GRACE for helping coordinate this effort to help students and families in Scarborough.”
