Town & Country FCU Provides Time and Financial Support to Help Feed Community
Helping those in need is a hallmark of Town & Country’s ‘local helping local’, an initiative that goes far beyond just providing financial services. Recently, the credit union made a significant financial contribution and staff volunteer hours in support of Preble Street Food Security Hub.
The credit union kicked off 2025 with a contribution focused on ‘feeding the spirit of positivity’, a contribution that provided funding for 7,500 meals covering the first week of the New Year.
Melanie McKean, Development Director at Preble Street, said the contribution is such a wonderful way to celebrate the start of a new year and to highlight the opportunity for new hope and new beginnings. “This is such a generous donation that will help Preble Street Food Security Hub serve those in need on New Year’s Day and the first few days of 2025. We are grateful to have good friends like Town & Country to help us provide over 1,000,000 meals each year!”
Several weeks later, credit union staff, including David Libby, President and CEO, spent time at the Food Security Hub packing hundreds of meals to deliver to individuals served by Preble Street.
Jon Paradise, Senior Vice President at Town & Country, said supporting Preble Street, which provides vital services throughout southern Maine, aligns with the credit union’s desire to “make an impact that goes beyond credit cards, loans and savings and benefits our community, as a whole.”
