We will share ways to help identify and recognize age bias in your daily life and provide tips to help change the conversation about aging to build a more age-positive Maine.
Speaker:
Maureen O’Connor joined the Maine Council on Aging (MCOA) in November 2023 as Director of MCOA’s Power in Aging Project, an initiative launched in 2021 to reduce age bias, promote age-positivity, and ultimately end ageism in Maine by 2032. Prior to joining the MCOA, Maureen was a senior grants consultant for Maine’s second largest and most rural health care system and served as director of resource and membership development for Maine’s statewide association of federally qualified health centers. Maureen relocated to Maine in 2017 from Chicago, where she was president and principal of a successful consulting firm serving nonprofits.
